Kecamatan Kesu’. Toraja Utara.\nProfile of the late Y. Sanda Salurante (Nek Kake’):\nNe’ Karang, whose real name was Sanda Salurante, held the status of Kaparengesanna Tadongkon and held the Pa’buntuan Sugi’ Lan Lili’na Kesu’.\nHe was one of the local fighters who defended Toraja from the second wave of attacks by the Andi Sose’ battalion in the 1950s, which galvanized his fellow Torajans.\nTheir cruelty (the Andi Sose’ battalion) came a second time, burning people’s homes, threatening their lives, killing their pigs and scattering their intestines over the hedges along the road from Mengkendek to Makale.\nThey thought the Torajans would be complacent after their first attack failed.
